"I See You" - 5 tunes for today

Lately Bruce Johnston is in the news for a couple of reasons, 1) the Beach Boys are back on tour with five members for the first time in a long time and 2) he said Obama is "a socialist A-hole".
So there are a lot of mixed feelings out there about Bruce! lol

This one is from the Beach Boys excellent "Sunflower" album. A pretty straightforward song about divorce. They probably would never play this one. In fact, I don't think Bruce ever got many lead vocals and he is still though of as the "new" guy. (He joined in 1965 I think). Don't feel too bad for him. He has had some success as a songwriter. Barry Manilow covered his "I Write the Songs" and made it a huge hit.

The Beach Boys "Tears in the Morning"

Iron Maiden Lead Singer Bruce Dickinson has always seemed smarter than your average Metalhead.(The guy is also a friggin' airline pilot!). He is also a very accomplished in the sport of Fencing. His solo album "Skunkworks" is one of the best hard rock albums of the past 20 years.

Bruce Dickinson "Back from the Edge"

Heard Tom Petty play this one on his "Buried Treasure" show tonight. Love this song. YES, of all groups,  also did a fantastic cover of this song. Sixties music doesn't get much better...

                 The Byrds "I See You"

Greg Lake is still around touring, wish he would come a little closer to Baltimore.
Here he is playing the ELP classic
              "From the Beginning"

I remember buying this cassette in 1982 from  the record store I would eventually work at. Pretty good 80's AOR. Joe Lynn Turner era of the band,

             Rainbow "Tearin Out My Heart"
