5 "Normal" songs

The concept of "normal" seems to be changing all of the time. Sometimes that's good, sometimes not so good. Normal can be boring but sometimes normal is nice, calm, not annoying.

What is "normal".
some definitions:

"conforming to the standard or the common type; usual; not abnormal; regular; natural."

"serving to establish a standard."

"approximately average in any psychological trait, as intelligence, personality, or emotional adjustment.

"free from any mental disorder; sane." uh-oh, we could all be in trouble here....

I think words like "conforming" and "average" are key. We all have to compromise and blend in, assimilate.
Some people want to "let their freak flag fly". That's fine but don't expect everyone to accept your behavior. You may find it hard obtain employment if you aren't perceived as "normal" . Money is pretty important...
This was the first Goo Goo Dolls cd I bought. You can really hear the Paul Westerberg/Replacements influence on Johnny Rzeznik. They would "sell out" a bit later on with their hunger for hits.... They got a little too "normal" for my taste.
                                "We Are the Normal"
Canadian singer songwriter Bruce Cockburn often goes in a political/sociological commentary with his lyrics. Funny that 30 years later we are dealing with  some the same issues.
Bruce Cockburn "The Trouble With Normal"

The Knack made a couple of really good albums after they reunited in the 90's. They went largely unheard as the masses had relegated them to one of their favorite "one-hit wonders" in their memory banks rather than the power pop legends that they were...
The Knack "Normal as the Next Guy"
                                               Foo Fighters "Normal"
"Average" is pretty normal
              Joe Walsh "Ordinary Average Guy"
